Another Use for Tabi Boots - Farming

A while ago, a customer came in to the Toronto store to buy some Tabi Boots to wear in her barn.  She liked the 5-Fastener Tabi Boots because of the waterproofing on the front of the uppers, easy to clean.  Then yesterday another customer called from Virginia who has been wearing his Tabi Boots for organic gardening.  He says they are light to wear and the flat sole makes them good to walk in.

Dyeing Jikatabi - How to

 It's easy to dye Tabi Boots.  Here's how I do it: Make sure the boots are clean.   Fill a big kettle with enough water to cover the boots and bring it to a boil. While the water is boiling soak the boots in warm water  Rub the boots together to remove sizing that may block the dye.   Once the water boils add the dye and stir to mix thoroughly.  I use Tintex but any commercial dye will do.  Make sure the dye is completely dissolved in the water.   Add the wet boots.  Submerge the boots and stir,...

 Recently some customers dyed their own Tabi Boots for a Cosplay Event.   The Pink Jikatabi on the Left. I think they turned out great! Dyeing the Tabi Boots isn't hard.  I'll give you the instructions in the next article.
