Lems Chukka: A Casual Yet Elegant Low Boot

The upper is made of breathable 100% organic cotton canvas (organic cotton is lower than regular cotton in water consumption rates) and the lining is made of 100% recycled polyester from recycled PET bottles. How green is that!  Even the shoelaces are made from recycled material. And of course, they are completely vegan.

Casual enough to be your go-to everyday shoe, dressy enough for work or date night, these comfortable and good looking shoes will go with any outfit. Like all of Lems's zero drop options, they have a foot friendly design with lots of room for your toes to spread out!

New to Minimal Shoes?

The Lems Chukka is a great choice for folks who are new to minimal shoes, you could certainly use them as your main transition shoe rather than an athletic style like their Primal 2 if you wanted. The reason they are great for beginners is that the cushy texture of the sole and the generous stack height work together to make the Chukka forgiving on unnaturally hard surfaces like concrete and asphalt. You still get some feedback through the sole about the surface you're walking on, but it will be a gentle nudge.

This also makes them ideal for folks who are starting out with sensitive soles of the feet for any number of reasons. You can get used to, or continue to enjoy, a zero drop and foot shaped shoe without throwing too many changes and challenges your body's way at once.

Sizing and Fit Notes

We recommend ordering your usual size in the Chukka, or if you're between sizes, order your larger size.

Like the other Lems products we carry, the Chukka is widest at the toebox, and tapers to be more narrow in the hind foot area.

The design of the Chukka works best on folks with tall arches and ankles. If you have ankles that go straight up and down rather than curving inwards along the Achilles area, these may rub against your ankles. The material does softer over time, but there are alternative models you can try that may save you the hassle.
