It features a flexible construction and a snug collar fit to help keep out any extra debris. They are water resistant with deep lugs for soft ground like muddy trails and dewy grass.

Sizing

The Primus Trail III All Weather SG is expected to fit true to size based on the official Vivobarefoot website.

Vivobarefoot uses gendered European sizing. This means a men’s 41 and a women’s 41 are the same length, but the men’s are wider and taller throughout, and the women’s sizing is shallower and narrower.

Fit Notes:

• We do not expect this model to stretch out over time
• Vivobarefoot shoes are in between a rectangular and triangular footprint shape
• Low to medium volume, adjustable with the lacing
• Width scales with length strongly in Vivobarefoot. Most sizes are narrow to average width, with the larger men’s sizes being the exception as average to slightly above average width
• Toebox suits sloping and mountain toe shapes best
• Width in the forefoot area slightly skewed toward big toe

Ground Feel

The Primus Trail III All Weather SG is a great choice for those looking for a trail runner that offers both ground feel and strong grip on soft or slippery terrain. With a total stack height of 7.5mm, including a 2.5mm base and 5mm lug height, this shoe provides the perfect balance of protection and sensory connection to the ground.

Even though it has a slightly higher stack height compared to other Vivobarefoot models, you can still expect that same ground feel you love, with added protection from sharp and rough off-road surfaces. 

If you are new to barefoot shoes and used to stiff and supportive trail shoes or boots, start out slow and easy with these as they will be a big change and may require you to strengthen and mobilize your feet to get back to your usual trail performance.

Care

You can brush off dirt and wipe these clean with a damp cloth as recommended by Vivobarefoot. Make sure to allow the shoes to dry at room temperature and out of direct heat sources like direct sunlight and the radiator.

With wear, the shoes can lose some of their water resistant qualities and so Vivobarefoot recommends using Liquiproof Premium Protector to replenish the water repellent qualities. For daily wear, treat once a month. For casual wear, treat as needed.
