The Eastern Traveler is the perfect boot for Fall! Featuring the Furoshiki wrapping style closure inspired by the Japanese scarf tie used to carry small parcels. You can roll the top down to expose the fashionable lining or leave it up for a more snug feeling.
The Gray model has an "Eastern inspired" pattern cotton lining.
The Black model has fuzzy lining fabric with a soft wooly feeling.
Weather readiness: this boot is better suited for sunny Fall days due to the ventilation pinholes above the toe area. Stepping in small puddles should be fine, and the soles are designed to grip wet surfaces to meet the needs of a city lifestyle.
Upper Material: Eco Suede
Lining: Eco Fur / Cotton Fabric
Outsole: XS City
Minimal Shoe Report Card:
Not advertised as Zero Drop but we believe they are at least very close.
Toe box width: Like all Vibram Furoshikis, these are suited for average to narrow width feet.
Flexibility: The soles have less flexibility than the classic Furoshiki shoes, but more than a standard shoe. This allows for extra durability.
Barefoot feel: The sole allows for minimal sensory input when you step on an object.
Overall: these are a great boot to help in your transition to minimal footwear, but those who have already been wearing minimal footwear may prefer the Lems Boulder Boot or Xero Vienna for Fall.
Sizing info: the fuzzy lining (Black model only) takes up more room so you may want to order a size up if you get the Black Furoshiki Eastern Traveler. For both models, you might go a size up if planning to wear them with very thick socks.
