Xcursion Original Waterproof Hiker *CLEARANCE = FINAL SALE*
Note: We have limited stock in the original Xcursion as Xero has stopped producing this version. Check out the new Xcursion Fusion, the updated version!
We've had great feedback and experience with them so if you are looking for a waterproof hiker that can hold up to Toronto winters, see if we still have your size!
A minimal shoe for winter or hiking, fully waterproof with:
Gusseted tongue and sealed waterproof inner liner
Additional water-repellent membrane inside
Durable protective toe cap, foxing, and accents
Easy and quick lacing with hooks at the top
The Xero Xcursion shines as a waterproof, lightweight hiking boot with deep treads, as a winter boot in the city, and for when you're carrying very heavy camping gear and desire more ankle support than if you were just day hiking. They're also a popular option for dog walkers, mail delivery people, and others who are out in all conditions, all year round.
Please note that the treads are designed to give you traction on ground textures such as mud, and will not stop you from slipping on ice. We recommend using additional ice treads for slippery ice, and please ensure you choose one that will stick out past the treads/lugs for this model.
If you have never worn minimal shoes before and are looking to transition, these will be a very gentle change, suitable as a first step for those who have very sensitive feet or very weak ankles as you train and condition your feet and body. They will offer you the opportunity to get used to zero drop soles, but they offer minimal ground feel, minimal sole flexibility, and are not quite as wide as other Xero models.
With their technical performance aesthetic, these pair well with clothing that is designed for durability and function, such as camping gear or work clothes.
Like all Xero Shoes these feature:
A wide toe box — lets your toes spread, splay and move naturally Low-to-the-ground design for balance and agility Non-elevated, “zero-drop” heel High-traction FeelTrue® rubber sole with dual-chevron tread, backed by their 5,000 mile sole warranty
Note: the sole is slightly thicker than other Xero models and has somewhat less flexibility.
The Xcursion fits very small. We recommend going up a full size, eg. if you normally take a W8.5, choose a W9.5 for the Xcursion. They do not stretch out, though the uppers material does become more pliable as you wear them in.
W stands for women's sizing, M for men's. The men's sizes are larger and wider.
An M9 is roughly the same length as a W7.5, if you wish to translate between the two systems for your desired width, which is easy with these as the colour options and overall design is the same for both gendered sizing systems.
