    Amenities

This section is dedicated to what we offer in store only: demos and services that are only available in person.

You can use this list to plan your visit, and we hope it will inspire you to shop in person if you're local, or visit during your next trip to Toronto.

    1. Personalized feedback when comparing shoe sizes and fit. Our staff has the experience to suggest the best fit for you. We can let you know what to look for to get a concrete sense of whether your shoes have enough room, enough security, and enough comfort.
    2. Try out Correct Toes to find your size, we can advise you on modifications, too. Correct Toes are a fantastic device for toe alignment, we're happy to help you decide between sizes and guide you in how to get started gradually for happy feet.
    3. Try out barefoot shoes on our Movemate Active Standing Board to see how they feel on uneven ground and test their flexibility. These are designed for bringing movement and fun to standing desks etc. We have one you can try out for fun, or as a tool for learning more about our shoes. Stand on it like a skateboard and twist, spin, roll through, or dance away! The Movemate board is available for demos when there are two or fewer parties in store. Clean shoes or socks only, no street shoes please!
    4. Get tips on transitioning to minimal shoes, such as demos of the anchored-heel calf stretch with our Foam Half Dome. Our staff has come to barefoot shoes from different movement backgrounds. We're happy to share our experience with you, and guide you towards professional movement teachers and health workers for more detailed advice. We can share some of the stretches and exercises that enhanced our transition to barefoot shoes if you're interested.
    5. Get a feel for the shoes you are trying on- this is probably the main reason people stop by! You'll also be able to see the colourways and touch the materials to see what they're like in real life. Whether you seek out the most natural materials or love high tech innovation, sometimes you don't know if a material will work for you until you meet it in person. The same goes for colourways: sometimes photos on screens are not 100% accurate, despite our best efforts to display a good likeness.
    6. Ask our staff for help describing the kinds of shoes that will best suit your unique feet: the barefoot shoes world has developed a shared and widely used vocabulary to describe all the different ways shoes may or may not suit different types of feet. We can suggest some key terms to help you narrow down what to look for when you're researching online.
    7. Unlisted clearance shoes: we often have a few last-ofs or items marked-down for minor signs of wear on clearance that we've taken off our website. We always bring these out for seasonal sales but we're happy to check if there's anything in your size next time you drop by, too. These are only available in person and final sale.
    8. Meet our staff! We're a friendly bunch and happy to talk about our favourite barefoot shoes with you when the shop is quieter. We learn a lot from our community, too: if you have recommendations or feedback about your barefoot shoes, that's really useful for building our always improving knowledge base.

CEM's retail shop is, shall we say, size-efficient, but we prioritize giving each customer advice that will give you the best experience possible with barefoot shoes.

While not everyone is able to visit, we want to encourage customers in the GTA to try shopping in store next time you're looking for a new pair of minimal shoes. We think it will be worth the trip!
