The Alpine is a truly minimal and waterproof vegan snow boot featuring fully seam-sealed inner construction, along with a water-resistant membrane in the upper, to keep out moisture and cold
The insulated polyester fleece lining keeps those piggies nice and warm. And a heat-reflective insole adds to the winter-friendly comfort. And, yes, you can remove the insole for an even more “barefoot” feeling
The Alpine includes lugged tread providing sure-footed traction in mud, slush and snow. It will not, however, give you more traction on ice
The Alpine runs true to size, unlike other Xero shoes. It has the most generous fit of any Xero model so far. We recommend ordering your usual big brand size.
The Alpines are expected to fit true to size and due to the vegan materials, will not stretch the same way as leather but might soften over time and use
Like most Xero shoes, the Alpine tend to fit people with a mountain slope shaped toes and generally narrower feet
The laces allow for the size of the Alpine to be adjustable
The Alpines will invite you to adjust to zero drop if you are used to footwear with elevated heels, and they have lots of room for your feet to spread out and for your toes to splay. As a winter boot they are not as flexible in the sole as some of Xero's other models, and they also have less groundfeel. This makes them a great first minimal shoe for people who need a winter boot, and especially for people who have sensitive soles of the feet. You can get used to the other aspects of minimal shoes before trying something with a bit more connection to the ground in spring.
To clean your Alpines, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting the Alpine in the washing machine or dryer.
