As a transition shoe: Due to the low stack height of 5mm there is high groundfeel and high flexibility and those new to barefoot would want to transition quite carefully and gradually with this model. You might start out only wearing them for short periods of time with lower impact activities.

The uppers are a synthetic. Brush off dried dirt and spot clean with a mild detergent solution. Do not use a machine washer or dryer, hand wash sparingly if needed, remove the insoles and lay flat to dry. Spray with waterproofing if desired to repel mud and prevent stains before they happen.
