As a transition shoe: Due to the medium groundfeel and flexibility, these shoes are great for most people to transition with. While it’s still important to pay attention to your body’s limits, these shoes may require less changes to your routine if you’re new to barefoot.

Leather is very easy to take care of and durable, and so are the soles on this model. You can easily wipe off dirt from any area.

Leather lasts longer and looks better as it ages when you take care of it. If your leather shoes show signs of drying out, use a leather conditioning product on them. You can obtain leather care products from shoe care and repair shops, tack shops, and sometimes from your local hardware or pharmacy, or order online.

Remove road salt often to avoid damage to any leather footwear in winter, and avoid excess exposure to heat like from radiators. Use a half and half or weaker vinegar-water solution solution on a cloth to gently wipe off the salt, then apply leather conditioner. You can also find leather cleaners or "shampoos" if you prefer, or have your boots professionally maintenanced.

The Winter 3.0 is a winter boot that balances protection from the elements with a barefoot experience: you get a flexible and lightweight leather boot that gives you lots of toe freedom and some ground feel while offering a warm and cozy time with the Merino wool lining and fully waterproof design. The soft rubber sole has good traction on cold surfaces, though the tread doesn't dig into soft terrain very much making them ideal for casual use around town rather than offroading.

Some customers find that being so close to the ground, the Winter 3.0 is not warm enough for their Canadian winters. Others find that they prefer the sole flexibility and groundfeel they have to options that elevate you away from the cold. It can be a personal decision whether to go for a more barefoot boot or the warmest boot possible.
