As a transition shoe: Most toddlers and kids who enjoy being barefoot easily adapt to thin-soled shoes like these. If in doubt, enter these into rotation gradually and use comfort as a guide; the feet may be doing more work in thin-soled shoes than if they were in stiff supportive footwear, so the feet will tire more quickly.

Use a gentle detergent to hand wash. In cases of heavy soiling, it is safe to machine wash them in cold water on a delicate cycle, but it's advisable to launder them separately from other clothing items. Air dry and store away from high heat sources.
