Wear the D-Trail around town with friends and enjoy the compliments you get on how cool they look. Later in the day, head out for a hike and wait while all your friends change their shoes. Not you, though. In the D-Trail, you’re all set.
The FeelTrue® rubber outsole with a dual chevron lug pattern gives you the traction and protection you need to tackle the trail. And the barefoot design lets you walk, hike, and explore in all-day comfort.
Features

- Easy on-off and easy fit adjustment, no complicated strap design to figure out
- No toe-post, giving you more options to find a sandal you love
- Perfect for travel or camping, they’re featherlight and packable
- Tread-y enough for light hiking, and highly suitable for pavement walking
- Zero drop so you can move with healthy alignment
- Medium high groundfeel with a “just enough” squishy trail foam sole
- Medium high flexibility in the sole so you can navigate with confidence and agility
Sizing
Fits true to size for most customers. Xero sandals come in full sizes only, if you’re between sizes we recommend the smaller size, since open-toe sandals work best with a snug fit.
Xero makes the D-Trail sandals in US men’s and women’s whole sizes. For Xero sandals, there is a difference of one size, so a men’s 8 is as long as a women’s 9, but the men’s size will be a bit wider throughout and vice versa.
Fit Notes:
- We do not expect these materials to stretch at all
- Xero sandals suit a rectangular footprint shape best; there is only a slight taper from toe to heel
- What kind of volume: Xero sandals suit average to high volume feet best
- Notes on width: average toebox width, medium to high width in the midfoot and heel
- The fit can be adjusted in three places: across the toes for forefoot width, over the instep for volume, and around the heel to keep you secure
- Which toebox shape: The D-Trail sandals suits sloping toes shape best but a variety of forefoot shapes can wear these sandals.
- Width in the forefoot area is: centered.
Ground feel
The D-Trail has medium high groundfeel and flexibility.
They are perfect for experienced barefooters wanting a slight cushion for longer treks, or for those newer to barefoot for casual walks while transitioning. Feedback from the terrain to your feet informs your movement to help develop a gentle barefoot gait.
The amount of flexibility in the sole means they conform over the shape of uneven surfaces, allowing your feet greater movement availability and variety. If you’re not used to this, your feet may get tired in them easily, so take your time adjusting!
Care
You can just hose them down, or wipe with a damp cloth and gentle soap. They’ll dry quickly.
Best uses
Sun or rain, trail or town, the Xero D-Trail sandal blends trail-ready foot freedom with everyday summer style. If you want a sandal that can do it all, their versatility in function and appearance is our top recommendation!
Ultra comfortable, barefoot feeling all-terrain soles and colourful, easily adjustable straps make these great for all your summertime activities.
