Shapen’s Poppy barefoot sandals are (not just) for special occasions, Shapen calls them the first barefoot pumps ever. Beautiful and elegant, they also meet all the criteria of barefoot shoes.
The anatomically shaped toe box is soft, and holds its shape. Featuring a thin outsole, only 3 mm thick! Soft foam moulded insoles ensure walking comfort. The back of sandals is moulded to hold the heel in place and prevent rubbing.

Sizing
This model runs large, most people take one size down from their usual European size.
The Poppy is available in European sizing. While Shapen makes the Poppy in regular barefoot width and extra wide styles, we have decided only to carry the regular barefoot width version to start.
Fit Notes:
- Like any leather shoe, the Poppy will soften, stretch, and mould to your feet with wear
- Footprint shape is triangular: wide at the forefoot and tapering in towards the heel
- The Poppy suits a variety of foot volumes, with best fit going to average volume
- They are much wider than a conventional ballet flat at the toebox, but fairly narrow at the heel
- The fit around the ankle can be adjusted slightly with the strap and fastening
- It is possible to take them to a shoe repair to add a hole on the strap in a custom position.
- Toebox shape suits a variety of feet as the slope angle is mild
- Width in the forefoot area is centred
Ground Feel
The Poppy has a very thin and flexible sole to give you as close to a barefoot experience as possible while wearing dressy shoes.
If you’re new to minimal shoes take it slow with the Poppy! They would be a big adjustment compared to stiff and cushioned conventional shoes. Look into transitioning into minimal shoes safely, we’re happy to point you towards resources.

Care
You can wipe the Poppy clean with a damp cloth, and treat with leather care as needed.
