Ahinsa Shoes are designed by physiotherapists, sewn by hand in the Czech Republic and Croatia, and made of durable high quality vegan materials, also sourced in Europe. Their focus is on everyday footwear that your mind, heart, and feet will feel great about.
The Ananda is a mary-jane style ballet flat with strap (velcro fastened and therefor slightly adjustable). It offers an ultra light and flexible formal look, and the shape is very comfortable for a number of foot types with its wide, rounded toebox.
For this model, the front of the shoe is quite shallow, so most people will need to go up by one size. You can see Ahinsa's sizing advice here.
The Ananda comes in European sizing, has a bean shaped footprint, a wide and rounded toe-box, and is very tapered towards the narrow heel to help hold your foot securely.
Ahinsa offers a narrow foot version of this shoe, but we only brought in the regular minimal shoe width for CEM.
The Ananda is as barefoot as it gets while still wearing a shoe! The sole is extremely thin and flexible.
Those new to barefoot shoes would want to very gently start wearing these for short periods of time as your feet grow stronger and more flexible during the transitional months (or start with something a little cushier).
The Ananda is made from CF+ material, cruelty-free material that looks no different from leather at first glance. At second, it does: it lasts a lot longer and molds to your feet from the first time you wear it.
In shoes made from CF+, your feet can freely breathe and stay dry.
As a mary-jane style ballet flat, the Ahinsa is perfect for when you want to dress up, or give a chill outfit a sweet feminine twist. Great for a "leave at the office for winter indoor shoes" option, or wear them all summer long. They'll be perfect for date night and special occasions, so you'll get use out of them all the time.
