The Wyde Hallux 1.0 is a unisex, extremely wide toe box shoe perfect for those who find they need more space than even the average minimal shoe provides.

Features

Sizing

Most people go a size up in the Hallux 1.0. If you normally size up for width you won't have to size up extra for that, just the normal amount.

Wyde uses unisex European sizing.

Fit Notes:

• Does not stretch out
• Triangle shaped with the toebox being the widest part and tapering towards the heel
• Average to high volume: shallowest at the front of the toebox and more generous through the midfoot and heel. Somewhat adjustable through the lacing. Those with very low volume through the midfoot and heel may find these hard to tighten enough to get a secure fit.
• Extra wide, even compared to most of our selection
• Toebox shape suits square/round best, though by extension it should have enough toebox space for any shape of foot. may seem too wide in the front for those with narrow, sloping feet.
• Width in the forefoot area is centered: the big toe side has extra room to splay and the outer side has a lot of length allowing for that square toebox fit.

Ground Feel

The Hallux 1.0 features medium-high groundfeel with an optional foam insole and a thin, flexible 100% rubber outsole. The Hallux 1.0 is a good option for those who want a balance between a little bit of ground protection while maintaining flexibility and mobility of the foot. Those new to barefoot would want to take care not to push too hard to fast if selecting these as a first minimal shoe, paying attention to the needs of the body to avoid injury.

Care

Spot clean when possible. To wash your Wyde Hallux 1.0, hand wash with a soft brush and mild cleaning solution, then allow them to air dry. Do not put the Hallux 1.0 in the washing machine or dryer.

Best Uses

The Wyde Hallux 1.0 works very well as a gym shoe that maximizes performance by giving you the space to make ground contact. The flexible upper mesh and rubber sole allows for unrestricted movement as you run, jump, or lift.

Outside of the gym, the Hallux 1.0 can be a nice day-to-day shoe that you can wear comfortably on a walk or doing errands in warm weather with their airy mesh uppers, while they are less suitable for particularly wet, cold, or slippery conditions. All-in-all, the Hallux may be the perfect summer shoe for those looking to get as much space and freedom as their toes could want!
