Sizing

We find most of our customers take their regular size in this model. The Primus Trail III AW FG is unlikely to stretch out over time.

The previous version (Primus Trail II All Weather FG) fit a half size more generously than Vivobarefoot’s other athletic models. We expect this updated version to have the extra room for midweight hiking socks and downhill comfort too.

The Primus Trail III All Weather FG has a tapered fit style:

• suits feet that are average to narrow width, with a wide forefoot that tapers towards the heel
• suits average to low foot volume, and offers some adjustment to volume through the lacing
• suits sloped forefoot/toe shape best
• Vivo suggests those with very wide go a size up to accommodate the width
• Vivobarefoot shoes have a mix between a triangular and bean-shaped overall footprint shape, rather than a rectangular shape
• the Primus Trail III All Weather FG is available in European men's and women's sizing: a 41 men's will be about the same length as a 41 women's, but the men's will be slightly wider and higher volume and vice versa

Ground Feel

The Primus Trail III All Weather FG feels very barefoot for a trail shoe, though the sole material is more firm than their running shoes: you get a little more protection and a little less flexibility in the sole with the firmer trail sole.

The Primus Trail III All Weather FG provides a medium to high amount of sensation through the sole, and feels close to the ground. Like most Vivobarefoot shoes, there is little give in the soles so they do not feel cushiony.

If you are new to minimal shoes and used to thick, stiff soles, you will want to take it slow starting out in this model. If you enjoy when shoes feel as close as possible to being barefoot, you'll likely enjoy this model for nature time.
